I began having music lessons at the age of 6, first on Recorder and then on Piano. I also love to play the flute and the guitar!

Over time I developed a love for more contemporary rock music, whilst maintaining a healthy appreciation of the the famous classical pieces like Mozart’s Rondo alla Turca, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, Moonlight Sonata and Für Elise, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Hungarian Dance by Brahms.

I particularly enjoy rock music from the sixties and seventies, and as I am an 80’s baby, most music from that era as well.

This varied musical exposure enables me to play in a variety of bands crossing over successfully into my Rock band (The Peter Vanne Band) and my Jazz band (Speakeasy).

Today, apart from teaching Piano, Music Theory and the Young Singers programme at Legacy, I also continue performing with my bands enabling me to both teach and perform, which is what I absolutely love to do!

To date I have achieved a BA in Language and Culture from Stellenbosch University. A Grade 8 in Vocals at Royal Schools.

A PCGE in Education from UNISA and a Rockschool Gr 8 in Piano.
